Learn more about why Dr. Lehmann went into the field of medicine and why he chose orthopedics.
Meet Dr. Charles Lehmann of Orthopedics.
What got you into the field of medicine?
After college he hadn’t actually planned on going into medicine. He was a little discouraged by how medicine was changing and was less focused on taking care of the patient, so he took a job in New York City doing surgical sales. Through his job, he was exposed to a lot of surgeons in maxillofacial surgery and was fascinated by it.
Why did you choose orthopedics?
It was a natural fit for him since he was involved in sports and exercised a lot his whole life. He also liked the mechanical side of things.
What do you want patients to know about your approach to treatment?
His goal is to listen to what the patient is saying and hearing how the condition is affecting them on a day-to-day basis. He may order additional tests and then formulate a treatment plan.
What do you like to do outside of the office?
He likes being active through snow skiing, running, and lifting weights.
